Michael Sova

SOVA, Michael William- Age 71, of Flint, died April 17, 2016. A memorial service will be held 5 PM Saturday, April 23 at Sharp Funeral Homes Miller Road Chapel 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Family will receive friends from 1 PM until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to the Flint Police Fund. Michael was born May 28, 1944 in Flint, the son of Leo and Alene (Cloutier) Sova. He was a 1962 graduate of Swartz Creek High School and attended the University of Michigan. He married Jacqueline Burch on August 28, 1977. She preceded him in death on October 11, 2015. Michael retired from the Flint Police Department in 1993 after 27 years of duty as a Sergeant. Michael enjoyed his retirement spending time with his best friend and wife, Jackie and their horses and dogs. He is survived by his siblings; Linda Brulla, Pat (Prentiss) Bouge, David Sova, Susan (Terry) Horton, Gail Heathcoat, Leo (Cathy) Sova, Crystal (Tony) Genovesi, Kate (Jeff) Garabedian; brother-in-law, Kevin Burch; sister-in-law, Bonnie Burch; nephew, Marc Viens; niece, Kim Roe; great-niece, Cassi Roe.
