Michael Sanford

SANFORD, Michael Sheldon - Age 82, of Clarkston, died Thursday, January 26, 2023.  Funeral services will be held 1:30 PM Sunday, January 29, 2023 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek (A live stream of the service will be available on Michael's obituary at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com).  Rabbi Josh Bennett officiating.  Burial following in Machpelah Cemetery, Flint. The family will sit Shiva Sunday immediately following the service and Monday and Tuesday from 4-8 PM at Lisa's home, 4067 Highview Ct., Waterford. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to the National Kidney Foundation or to Donate Life.

Michael was born May 27, 1940 in Flint, the son of Lewis Howard and Jessica Miriam (Schiffman) Sanford.  He was a 1958 graduate of Flint Central High School and he received a Bachelor's degree from Ferris State University.  He married Constance Kay "Connie" Simpson February 7, 1971 in Flint and she preceded him in death September 17, 2016. Michael had resided in Clarkston since 1971 coming from Flint.  He retired in 2005 from GM Flint Metal Fab. after 30 years of service as a Supervisor. He enjoyed spending time with his family especially his grandchildren.

Surviving are: his daughters, Lisa and husband Jay Imerman and Rebecca and husband Jeff Lund; grandchildren, Rachel, Jeremy, Benjamin, Evan, and Elliott; sister, Barbara Schafer of Flint Township; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; and his faithful companion, Sparkle the Pug.
