Interment will follow at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly. Family and friends will receive visitors from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 12:00 PM. Michael was born on February 26, 1947, in Ontonagon, Michigan, the son of the late Carelo and Ellen (Backa) Juhola. He was a skilled tradesman, having dedicated much of his career as a welder at General Motors. A proud graduate of Trout Creek High School, class of 1965, Michael furthered his education at Mott Community College, where he honed his expertise in powder spray welding, structural steel, and blueprint reading.
Michael's commitment to service extended beyond his professional life; he honorably served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War from 1966 until his discharge in 1968. His military service was a significant chapter in his life, shaping his character and instilling in him values that defined him throughout his years. Shortly after, Michael and Darlene Mattson were united in marriage on November 21, 1968, in Raisinville Township. Sadly, she preceded him in death on January 8, 2021.
In addition to his professional and military accomplishments, Michael was known for his kind and generous spirit. Often described as a jack of all trades, he was always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need. He embraced life with enthusiasm, finding joy in riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, which took him through numerous states across America, granting him the opportunity to explore the open roads.
Michael is survived by his sister, Marie Chillman; brother, Todd Miilu; five nieces; two nephews; cherished friend and caregivers, Tiffany and Kenneth McDonough, and friend and brother, the "flagman". In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his sister, Charlotte.
The memory of Michael Herbert Juhola will live on in the hearts of all who knew him, remembered not only for his professional accomplishments but also for his unwavering kindness and generosity. Tributes can be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com
