HOPPE, Michael Devon -- Age 45, of Fenton, died August 8, 2009 at the VA Hospital in Ann Arbor. Services will be 12 PM Thursday, August 13 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Linden Chapel, 209 E. Broad St., Linden, Deacon Ron Kenney officiating. Interment in Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly. Visitation will be 1-4 and 6-9 PM Wednesday. Those desiring may make contributions to the Michael Hoppe Memorial Fund. Michael was born December 12, 1963 in Wichita, Kansas the son of William and Marilyn (Savoy) Hoppe. He grew up in Swartz Creek and Linden and was a 1982 graduate of Linden High School. He married Paula Glasstetter on April 27, 1985. Michael retired from the U.S Navy with 20 years of service. He worked in the Mobile Utilities Support Equipment Program for the Navy. While in the Navy he was primarily stationed in California. After retirement in 2002 he returned to the Linden area and worked for Emergent Biosolutions for five years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and being active with his sons in their sports. Surviving are: wife Paula; two sons, Gavin and Matthew; parents, William and Marilyn; sister, Lennie and husband William Theurer; parents-in-law, Charles and Jean Glasstetter; sister-in-law, Dana and husband Jerry Fagerstrom; brother-in-law, Brad Glasstetter; three nephews, Donovan, Benjamin, and Kyle.
