Michael "Duke" Earl Drendall

DRENDALL, Michael "Duke" Earl - age 78 of Gaines, died January 4, 2024. Funeral services will be held 12:30 PM Tuesday, January 9, 2024, at Sharp Funeral Homes, Linden Chapel, 209 E. Broad St., Linden, MI 48451. Interment will follow at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly. Visitation will be held 10:30 AM - 12:30 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Michael was born March 11, 1945, in Wilmington, Delaware, the son of John V. and Anna J. (Strusowski) Drendall, Sr. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and retired from T.E.C. (Testing Engineer Consultants) as a Structural Steel Inspector. Duke married Karrie Dove on October 1, 1994. He was passionate about music, played the harmonica and had his own band. He loved sports, playing golf and gardening. Duke was an avid rough carpenter and renovator, a gifted dog trainer, gregarious, and a fun-loving truth-seeker. He loved life and his family with vigor. Surviving are: wife, Karrie; children, Daniel (Linda) Drendall of California, Melanie Drendall of Flushing; stepchildren, Heather Skinner and Grant Skinner, both of Sterling Heights; grandchildren, Brittanie, Jacob, Nicholaus, Tanner (Natasha), and Eliana; siblings, John (Mona) Drendall, Jane Drendall and Mary Beth Oilphant; faithful companion, Riley.
