Michael David Benedict - Age 65, of Linden, passed away March 21, 2025. A memorial gathering will be held from 4-8 PM Thursday, March 27, 2025 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton. Michael was born on March 25, 1959 in Flint, the son of the late James and Shirley (Anderson) Benedict. He was raised in Clio and graduated from Clio High School. Growing up, he was an avid hockey player and goalie, and enjoyed boating and spending time at the family cottage on Runyan Lake. Michael was an avid MSU sports fan, lover of classic rock music, and was fond of his annual family trip to Traverse City. He was passionate about family and making memories out by the pool and on Silver Lake. Michael was a doting father to his two daughters, and was entertained by his two lively grandchildren. He was a generous person and a loving brother and friend. Michael was known for his hard work ethic, and worked for both the Flint Journal and General Motors. He retired from GM after 30 years of service. In retirement, he took pride in taking his Nissan 370Z out for a spin, caring for his Boston Terrier, Gabby, and his aquarium of fish. He is survived by his daughters, Brittney (Derek) Schell, Jamie Benedict and their mother, Linda Benedict; grandchildren, Olivia and Spencer; sisters, Nancy Wakefield and Susan Edgar; brother, Dan (Leanne) Benedict.
