Michael Anderson

ANDERSON, Michael David - Age 58, of Fenton, died June 21, 2016. Services will be held 11 AM Saturday, June 25, 2016 at Lake Fenton High School, 4070 Lahring Rd., Linden. Pastor Pat Brady will officiate. The family will receive friends from 5-8 PM Friday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to Church on the Street, Powers Catholic High School or Catholic Charities of Flint. Michael was born February 25, 1958 in Flint, the son of Worth "Mike" and Margarett (Garnica) Anderson. He was a graduate of Powers Catholic High School, where he was a standout distance runner. He went on to earn a Bachelors Degree in Psychology and a Masters Degree in Social Work from The University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. Michael was a gifted social worker and an active member of Church on the Street. He was an extraordinary husband, father, coach and mentor to many. Michael positively affected an immeasurable amount of people in his life, and was entirely present for anyone that needed him. He loved others wholly, selflessly and with abandon; he valued language and celebrated the immense power of words; and he created a legacy that will shape generations. He is survived by his wife, Laura; children, Christina Marie (Isaac) Blitchok, Jesse Michael Anderson, Eric David Anderson, Alec Jerome Anderson, and a grandchild on the way; father, Mike (Nancy) Anderson; brothers, Robert, Joel (Era); sister, Maria (Tom) Roman; mother and father-in-law, Barbara and Marvin Hole; sisters and brothers-in-law, LeeAnn, Rick, DeeDee and Scott; and many cherished nieces and nephews.
