MILLS, Merrowee Rose - Age 93, of Ann Arbor, formerly of Flint, died Tuesday, November 22, 2016. Funeral services will be held 3:30 PM Monday, November 28, 2016 at Grace Lutheran Church, 2526 Corunna Rd., Flint. Pastor Michael Koepke officiating. Burial 10:00 AM Tuesday, November 29 in Sunset Hills Cemetery. Visitation will be 3-8 PM Sunday, November 27 at Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd., Flint and 2:30 PM until time of service Monday at church. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to the Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary, 11831 Seminary Dr., Mequon, WI 53092. Merrowee was born January 12, 1923 in Flint, the daughter of Harold and Bertha (Jahnke) Jones. She attended Hade School of Fashion in Milwaukee, WI, studying dress design and fashion. She married Richard Bruce Mills July 29, 1950 in Flint. He preceded her in death August 25, 2003. Merrowee owned and operated Merrowee Dress Designing. Sewing for herself and others was a life-long love. Aside from a year of school in Milwaukee, she lived her entire life in Flint until moving to Ann Arbor in July 2015. She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church in Ann Arbor. She had been a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Flint for 30+ years. She was a member of McLaren-Flint Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary Post #310, and Goodwill Auxiliary, where she was a model for the Vintage Clothes Style Show. Surviving are: son, Timothy, and wife, Carrie Mills; grandson, Alexander Mills; granddaughter, Emmalee Mills, all of Ann Arbor; sister, Clara Buyack, of Goodrich; many nieces and nephews.
