Merrick Marie Sunde

SUNDE, Merrick Marie, age 23, of Lake Fenton, passed away Saturday, February 11, 2006 at Mott Childrens Hospital in Ann Arbor. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11AM Wednesday, February 15, 2006 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 600 N. Adelaide St., Fenton. Fr. Bosco Padamattummal celebrant and Deacon Ron Kenney co-celebrant. Interment will follow in St. John Cemetery. Visitation will be held 6-9PM Monday and 2-5 and 6-9PM Tuesday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton. A vigil service will be held 7PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial Contributions may be made to the University of Michigan Pediatric Bone Marrow Transplant Unit. Merrick was born October 11, 1982 in Flint, the daughter of Brian and Diane (OMalia) Sunde. She graduated in 2001 from Powers High School and was a member of the soccer team and swim team. Merrick attended Baker College and Western Michigan University, and had lived on Lake Fenton most of her life. She is survived by her parents, Brian and Diane Sunde of Lake Fenton; brother, Andrew Sunde of Lake Fenton; grandmothers, Barbara Wilcox of Grand Blanc, Evelyn Sunde of Flint Township; aunts and uncles, Colleen and Chris Chandler of Oakland Township, Kathy and Tim Marzonie of Alpharetta, GA, Shelia Stliff of Grand Blanc, Marta Oginsky of Flint Township, Lisa and John Maxwell of Lennon, Laura and Rick Palmer of Langsburg; several cousins; and special friends, Allison Hogan and Holly Phillips. She was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Gil Sunde and Jack OMalia. The family wishes to extend special thanks to Dr. Gregory Yanik and the staff at Mott Childrens Hospital for the loving care they provided Merrick.
