Merlin Holtz

HOLTZ, Merlin Carl - Age 80, of Flint Twp., died Monday March 12, 2018. Funeral services will be held 2PM Saturday, March 17, 2018 at Sharp Funeral Homes & Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd. Flint. Pastor Ernest Davis officiating. Visitation will be held 11AM until time of service on Saturday. Those desiring may make contributions to the American Cancer Society. Merlin was born January 4, 1938 in Flint, the son of the late Laurine (Schaefer) and Edward Margrif and Edmond Otto Holtz. He married Glenda Duvernois on October 4, 1995 in Flint and she preceded him in death on February 26, 2018. Merlin enjoyed nature, an avid hunter and fisherman, he loved going treasure hunting and especially spending time with his family and grandchildren. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. Merlin retired from GCCAA as a shop foreman for many years. Surviving are: son, Edward Nicholas Holtz "Nick" of Flint; daughters, Heather Holtz of Flint, Liza Holtz of MD; step-son, Corey Duvernois (Jessica) of Flint Twp; grandchildren, Constance, Cody, Savanah and Faith. He is also survived by many other grandchildren and great grandchildren; sisters, Betty Jane Couch-Baker (James) of Flint, Carolyn Frame of Flint; brother, Donnie Lee Holtz of Flint; many nieces and nephews. He is also preceded in death by his son, John Holtz of Flint, step-son,Tory Province of Flint and sister, Marlene Holtz of Florida. Tributes may be posted at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com
