Merlin Estle Denman

DENMAN, Merlin Estle - Age 68, of Flint Township, died Monday, January 15, 2007 at Hurley Medical Center.  Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, January 19 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 6-9 PM Wednesday and 1-4 and 6-9 PM Thursday.  Those desiring may make contributions to the American Cancer Society.  Mr. Denman was born October 26, 1938 in Cadillac, the son of Leslie LeRoy and Hazel Wynn (McCoy) Denman.  He married Jane Elizabeth Whitney August 23, 1958 in Baldwin.  He has resided in the Flint area most of his life.  He retired from GM Chevrolet Manufacturing after 37 years of service.  He was a member of U.A.W. Local 659 and served in the National Guard for 6 years.  Surviving are: wife, Jane Elizabeth; 3 children, Michael Denman of Flint, Kay and husband Anthony Montney of Flint Twp., Timothy Denman of Flint Twp; 4 grandchildren, Mazey and Kaycee Denman, Max and Troy Montney; brother, Richard and wife Edna Denman of Flint Twp; 2 sisters, Dora and husband Bill Nixon of Birch Run, Mildred LaBelle of Cadillac; many nieces, nephews and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Walter Denman; sister, Wreatha Kocsis.
