Merle David Case

Merle David Case, age 96, of Flint, peacefully passed away on January 27, 2025. A memorial service will be held 1PM Saturday, February 15 at New Haven Fieldhouse, 5213 S. Linden Road, Swartz Creek, MI., 48473, with a luncheon to follow. Arrangements provided by Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek.

Merle was born on August 25, 1928 in Flint the son of the late Ernest and Lillian (Guilford) Case. He proudly served in the United States Army National Guard from 1948 until his honorable discharge. Merle worked as a Commercial Contractor with Case Construction building many churches and schools over the years until his retirement. He was an award-winning photographer and enjoyed traveling with his wife, Sue Smith.

He is survived by his second wife, Sue Smith; 5 children, Mark Case, Marcia (Rick) Krull, Diane (Donald) Ramsey, Joni Mince and Gale Case; daughter-in-law, Annette Case; 10 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Merle was preceded in death by his first wife of 49 years, Lois; son, Gary Case; son-in-law, Mike Mince; grandson, Shannon; and 10 siblings, Raymond, Perle, Dale, Dallas, Ernest Jr., Ruby, Bethel, Jean, Raymond and Emerald.
