Melvin Robinson

Melvin R. Robinson, Age 91, of Flint Township, passed away on September 29, 2022 at his Michigan Home. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, October 7, 2022 at 4PM at Sharp Funeral Home, 8138 Miller Road in Swartz Creek. Visitation will be held on Friday, starting at 2:00PM until time of the service. Interment will be held privately at Sun Set Hills Cemetery.

Melvin was born on September 19, 1931 in Flint to the Late Lea Roy (Mary) nee Summers Robinson. He proudly served his Country in The United States Marine Corps; with deployment during the Korean War. He married the love of his life Margaret "Irene" Bennett on July 3, 1965 and together they raised two children. Melvin worked for General Motors/Chevy for 36 years retiring in 1985.Once retired Melvin & Irene spent the winter months in Hobe Sound, Florida enjoying those Jupiter Island Beaches daily. Melvin also enjoyed being a "homebody", watching old westerns and just relaxing. He also went on a daily coffee break every afternoon.

He is survived by his two children, Dennie (Karen Sue) Bennett of Flushing and Mary (Billy Jo) Dicolsa of Erwin, Tennessee. Melvin also is survived by many nieces & nephews, dear family members and the close neighbors, Mike & Lorie of Flint, John & Patti and Chuck of Hobe Sound, Florida

In addition to his parents, Melvin was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret "Irene"; brother, Wayne Robinson; sister, Ruth (Richard) Riegle; sister-in-laws, Jean Robinson & Peggy Sealy; brother-in-laws, James Bennett & Kenneth Bennett and nephew, Ricky Bennett.
