Melvin H. KESSLER

KESSLER, Melvin Henry -- Age 80, of Linden, died December 15, 2009 at Genesys Health Park. Funeral services will be 11 AM Saturday, December 19 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Linden Chapel, 209 E. Broad St., Linden, Pastor Margo Kivisto officiating. Visitation will be 5-8 PM Friday with a 7 PM VFW Memorial Service. Those desiring may make contributions the the Linden VFW. Mr. Kessler was born April 7, 1929 in Saginaw the son of Raymond P. and Hulda (Streich) Kessler. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in Korea. He had resided in Linden since 1965. He married Loretta Anne McGill on December 5, 1953 in Flint. Mr. Kessler retired from GM - V8 Engine as a supervisor in 1985 with 36 years of service. He was a member of the Linden VFW. Surviving are: wife Loretta; four children, Dianne and husband Robert Everly of Arlington, TX, Denise and husband Kent Miller of Byron, Dale and wife Dena Kessler of Kalkaska, Debra and husband Gregg Marty of Flint; four grandchildren, Jason and wife Julie Everly, Zach Marty, Jennifer Everly, Cody Marty; great-granddaughter Hayden Everly; brothers, Eugene and wife Pat Kessler of Fenton, Raymond and wife Jeanne Kessler of Linden; many nieces and nephews.
