Melvin Anthony Byron, Sr.

BYRON, Melvin Anthony, Sr.- Age 55, of Flint, died Tuesday, January 1, 2008.  Funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Monday, January 7, 2008 at North Central Church Of Christ, 2001 N. Saginaw St. Flint.  Brother Adrian Harris officiating.  Burial following at River Rest Cemetery, Flint.  Visitation will be held at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek from 2-8 PM Sunday.  Those desiring may make contributions to a charity of ones choice.  Melvin was born October 11, 1952 in Trinidad, West Indies, the son of Joseph and Laurencia (Luck) Byron.  He married Gaynell Gibbs October 6, 1975 in Flint.  He retired in 2004 from GM Chevrolet Metal Fab after 27 years of service.  He was a member of North Central Church Of Christ and U.A.W. Local 659.  Surviving are: wife, Gaynell; 3 children, Melvin A. Byron, Jr., Dequelon J. Byron, Monisha J. Byron all of Flint; Parents, Joseph and Laurencia Byron of Trinidad; 3 sisters, Clare Welch and husband Ralph of Flint, Angela Walters and husband Ashton of Boston, MA, Valerie Bell of Atlanta, GA; 3 brothers, Rudy Byron and wife Kitty of Flint, Winfield and wife Joy of Trinidad, Racarido Byron of Trinidad; father-in-law, Johnny Gibbs of Flint; mother-in-law, Odessa Gibbs of Flint; many sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews.  Online condolences and tributes may be posted on the obituaries page of sharpfuneralhomes.com.
