Melissa's funeral service will be Live Streamed and can be viewed from her obituary page on the Sharp Funeral Home website. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions in Melissa's name to Gift of Life of Michigan, https://giftoflifemichigan.org/ This would mean so much to Melissa's family, as Melissa herself gave life to others at her own passing.
Melissa was born on October 9, 1975. Her mother, Letricia "Letty", had her hands full from the get-go with Melissa's vibrant, sassy, mischievous ways. Melissa had a smile that could captivate a room and her personality could win anyone over. She adored her family & especially little children; she always wanted to be in the middle of all the fun. She enjoyed car rides, especially those car rides that would take her to her aunt's house to be spoiled. Melissa's corky interest was catalogs and magazines, she would get lost in all the pictures of people and scenes. She often would spread them about the floor and make collages. "I want the magazine!" Melissa would say. Above all Melissa's family will miss her dearly as there is no one who can fill the shoes of Missy Mooskie.
She is survived by her loving mother, Letty Sampson; sister, Marcie (Troy) DisBrow; nephews, Cameron (Mary Jane) DisBrow and Matthew ( Arreena) DisBrow; 3 great nephews, Greyson DisBrow, Joseph DisBrow and Oliver DisBrow; great niece, Clara. She also leaves behind her many aunts and uncles who were near and dear to her, Donald (Aaltje) Sampson, Cara Sampson, George (Judy) Sampson, Tracy Sampson, Betty (Risto) Nicevski, Tim (Terry) Sampson and Helen (John) Lescelius. Melissa is further survived by many other cousins and family members too numerous to list but never forgotten.
Melissa was preceded in death by her grandparents, Edward (Betty) Sampson and Seldon (Christina) Proffer; uncle Sam; Aunt Merlyn and cousin, Carrie Lucas.
Melissa and Letty would like to thank their many friends and family members who from day one have selflessly helped them through these many years. Your love and many acts of kindness have never gone unnoticed, and we don't know how we could have done it without you. The staff of Owosso Memorial Hospital and Sparrow Hospital of Lansing were exceptionally wonderful and provided such a high level of care to Melissa and her family; they truly made the experience peaceful.
