Melanie F. PINKSTON

July 10, 1957 — August 18, 2009

PINKSTON, Melanie F. - Age 52, life-long resident of the Swartz Creek area, died Tuesday morning, August 18, 2009 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Services will be 2PM Thursday, August 20, 2009 at the Church of Christ, 4028 E. Hill Rd., Grand Blanc with Minister J. Allen Barber officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday 2-4 and 6-8PM at Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd., Grand Blanc Twp. Visitation will also be 12:30PM until time of service Thursday at the church. Interment 2PM Saturday, August 22, 2009 at Bryant Cemetery, Lewisburg, TN. Miss Pinkston was born July 10, 1957, the daughter of Blaine and Jeannette Pinkston. She attended Lake Fenton Elementary and graudated from Fenton High School. Melanie was born at and lived most of her life on the family dairy farm where she was instrumental in its operation. She was in 4-H and received several trophies showing dairy animals. After the farm experience, she worked at Fenton's Taco Bell. She was a member of the Church of Christ at Grand Blanc most of her life. Melanie was a quadriplegic from an auto accident in May 1995. Afterwards, Melanie lived at various group homes and was living at Brannon Achievement Group Home, 1376 E. Hurd Rd., Clio at the time of her death. Her hobby was collecting postcards. Surviving are: mother, Jeannette Pinkston; brothers, Garth (Sharon) Pinkston of Columbia, TN, Collin of Swartz Creek; nephews, Grant (Miriam) Pinkston of Ft. Campbell, KY, Gavin (Lauren) Pinkston of Cordova, TN; niece, Grace Pinkston of Henderson, TN; grand-nephews, Jonah and Abner Pinkston of Ft. Campbell, KY; uncles, Roland Pinkston of Pittsburgh, PA and Bobby Bowden of Lewisburg, TN; many aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father, Blaine Pinkston; grandparents, Harley and Lulu Pinkston and Richard and Frances Bowden. A special thanks to Herb and Linda Brannon and the staff at Brannon Home for filling Melanie's last days with joy.
