Maynard 'Jake' Skidmore, Jr.

SKIDMORE, Maynard 'Jake', Jr. - age 77, of Swartz Creek, died Sunday, September 10, 2006 at his residence. A memorial service will be held 11 AM Wednesday, September 13, 2006 at St. Bartholomew Anglican Church, 9252 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek with Fr. Gene Geromel officiating. Jake was born December 15, 1928 in Flint, the son of Maynard and Dorothy (Worsing) Skidmore, Sr. He married Nancy L. Santoro in 1954. Jake was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving from 1946-1951. He retired from General Motors in 1982 after 30 years of service. Surviving are: three children, Sande and husband, Kelley Davis, Daniel Skidmore, all of Fenton; Scott Skidmore and wife, Connie of Pontiac; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Walter Skidmore and wife, Marilyn, Robert Skidmore.
