Maxine Mae Rex
August 1, 1937 - January 1, 2024
Maxine Mae Rex, age 86 passed away on January 1, 2024 surrounded by family in Fenton, Michigan. Funeral services will be taken care of by Sharp's Funeral Home of Fenton. Upon her death there will be a cremation without a memorial service.
Maxine Mae was born in Sault Sainte Marie Michigan on August 1, 1937 to her late parents Thomas Fornicola and Bernice (Willis) Fornicola. Maxine grew up in Sault Sainte Marie where she learned to be a figure skater and played piano. After moving down state to Flint Maxine worked at the IMA Box office for many years. She made her way to South Carolina and lived there for decades. Maxine enjoyed spending time traveling in the motorhome and went to all states except one, Hawaii. She said if there was a bridge to Hawaii she would have gone there as well. Always making her way back home to Michigan to spend summers with all of us. One of her favorite things was to sit on her back porch every night just to enjoy the evening and company that would stop by. Maxine loved her dogs, they made her smile and laugh everyday.
Maxine will be deeply missed and survived by daughter Lori Kay Loiacono and husband Tony, daughter Vicki Lynn Young and son John William Sharpe and wife Kristy. Along with Bill Rex and wife Michelle, Keith Rex and many loving Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, Niece's, Nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband Bill Rex, son in law Mark Young, parents and multiple brothers and sisters.
