Maxine O. MC MANUS

MC MANUS, Maxine O., age 87 of Swartz Creek, died Friday, September 4, 2009 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Maxine was born in Caledonia, Michigan, October 24, 1921 and has lived in the Flint and Swartz Creek area for many years. She was a graduate of Swartz Creek High School and the Hurley School of Nursing. She retired from Hurley Medical Center after 40 years as a registered nurse. She had been a long time member of Hope Lutheran Church. Surviving are her husband Leo McManus, whom she married in 1945, her sons; James McManus and wife Gerry of Dawsonville, Georgia and Douglas M. McManus and wife Kim of Byron. Also surviving are 8 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, a sister, Arlene Shell , a brother, E. Jack Karrer and wife Katherine. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Sunday, September 6, 2009 at Hope Lutheran Church, 7365 Miller Rd. Swartz Creek. Pastor David Krueger will officiate and burial will be at Crestwood Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive visitors at the Sharp funeral home, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek on Saturday from 1:00 to 8:00 P.M. Sunday, Mrs. McManus will be taken to the church to lie in state from 1:00 P.M. to service time. Memorial Contributions may be offered to Hope Lutheran Church.
