Maxine Kelly

KELLY, Maxine Ruth - Age 88, of Fenton, passed away Sunday, April 9, 2023.  Funeral service will be held 1:00 PM Thursday, April 13, 2023 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton (A live stream will be available on Maxine's obituary page at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com).  Fr. Roy Horning officiating.  Visitation will be held at the funeral home Wednesday from 4-8 PM.  Those desiring may make contributions to the American Heart Association.

Maxine was born May 25, 1934 in Detroit, the daughter of Frank and Mary (Shedd) Stevens.  She was a 1952 graduate of Lincoln High School in Warren.  She married James W. Kelly in 1954 in Kansas City, MO and he preceded her in death December 22, 1985.  She had resided in Fenton since 1966 coming from Holly/Warren, she also wintered in Panama City Beach, FL.  Maxine was an nurses aide at Fenton Extended Care.  She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and was a volunteer for the Fenton Kiwanis Club.  She enjoyed bowling, walking, and going to the casino's.

Surviving are: her children, Michael (Theresa) Kelly of Grand Blanc, James Kelly of Phoenix, AZ, Peggy Kelly of Grand Blanc and Joseph (Diane) Kelly of Lansing; 11 grandchildren and several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; her twin sister, Virginia Sahajdack of Fenton; brother, Gerald Stevens of Macomb County; and several nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Catherine Buning; twins, Harriett and John; grandson, J.R. Shimmel.  Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
