ARCHIE, Maxine Louise - Age 78, of Linden, died Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at The Pines of Lake Fenton. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Monday, August 2, 2010 at Hidden Springs Church, 5860 Latson Road, Howell, with Pastor Bill Tulip officiating. Visitation will be held at Sharp Funeral Homes, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton Friday from 5-9 PM, Saturday from 1-4 and 6-9 PM, no visitation on Sunday and at church Monday from 10 AM until time of service. Those desiring may make contributions to Maxine L. Archie Memorial Fund. Maxine was born June 22, 1932 in Martin County, MN, the daughter of Wayne and Elizabeth (Chaffe) Butler. She married Vincent J. Archie October 11, 1968 in Grand Blanc and he preceded her in death May 3, 2009. She was a graduate of Westman High School and LeMars College in Iowa. Maxine retired in 1994 from Fenton Community Schools as a teacher, she also had taught at various schools in Iowa, Colorado and Minnesota. She was a member of Hidden Springs Church in Howell. She was also an avid Detroit Tigers Fan and started the Fenton Ambassadors. Surviving are: son, John Wayne Jordan of Fenton; daughter, Tamara Ann VanCamp of Grand Blanc; granddaughter, Nicole VanCamp; grandson, John Page; 2 sisters, Joanne Adams and Norita Holmstrom both of Minnesota; brother, Jim Butler of Minnesota; several nieces and nephews.
