Maurice Mount

MOUNT, Maurice "Dwayne" -- Age 87 of Grand Blanc died Tuesday, October 6, 2015. Funeral services will be held 1PM on Saturday, October 10, 2015 at Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd., Flint. Rev. Manley Pierce officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will take place from 2-4PM and 6-8PM on Thursday and Friday at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or Alzheimer's Association. Dwayne was born December 8, 1927 the son of Alton and Alice (Mitchell) Mount. He is a veteran of the US Naval Reserve. He married Lydia Augusta Schlieter on September 9, 1956 in Niles, MI. He worked for General Motors' Buick Division for 33 years as an inspector and utilityman retiring in 1980. He was a member of Calvay Christian Church where he was very active and was an Elder. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and bowling. Most important in his life was his desire to help others and he loved visiting older people in their homes through their church. Survived by children; Robert (Sandra) Mount of Grand Blanc, Richard (Janet) Mount of Grand Blanc, Kathrine (Kenneth) Patterson of Flint, Jeanne Stickle of MT, Julie McFall of Montana, David Watson of Pontiac, many, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren all equaling 60 total, as well as brother Lyle Mount of California.
