Maurice Montpas

MONTPAS, Maurice Paul Anthony "Morry" -Age 65, of Fenton, died Saturday, April 4, 2015. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, April 9, 2015 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton. Pastor Denny Daniels officiating. Interment 12:30 PM Friday, April 10, 2015 in Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Wednesday from 1-9 PM and Thursday from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Those desiring may make contributions to Carriage Town Ministries or to Purple Heart. Morry was born May 15, 1949 in Flint the son of John Arthur and Dorothea V. (Ethier) Montpas. He received an Associates Degree from Mott Community College. He was a Vietnam veteran serving in the U.S. Army and a recipient of two purple hearts. Morry married Judy A. Gavit May 20, 1989 in Fenton. He was employed by Sorensen Gross for 37 years. He was a member of the Pen Collectors of America and a former member of the D.A.V. and the American Legion. Surviving are: wife, Judy; 4 daughters, Jaime (Scott) Miller of Dallas, GA, Raishelle Montpas of Bay City, Katherine (Josh Wolfin) Montpas of Fenton, and Victoria (Dale) Flanigan of Clio; grandchildren, Johnny, Dale, Marrissa, Evan, and Samantha; siblings, Mary Krupa of Davison, John (Phyllis) Montpas of Flint, Norman (Shirley) Montpas of Fenton, Edwin (Patricia) Montpas of Fenton, Clara (Dennis) Feuerstein of Gladwin, Jerome (Debbie) Montpas of Flint, William (Debbie) Montpas of Flint, and Denise (Mark) Fink of Millington; brother-in-law, Marlin Princing of Lapeer; and several nieces and nephews.
