Maureen Ottney

OTTNEY, Maureen Catherine - age 89, of Fenton, died May 16, 2022. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated 11 AM Saturday, July 23, 2022 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 600 N. Adelaide St., Fenton, MI 48430 with Fr. David Harvey celebrant. Burial of her cremated remains will follow at St. John Cemetery. The family will also receive friends from 10 AM - 11 AM Saturday at the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. John Outreach. Maureen was born April 2, 1933 in Ann Arbor, the daughter of Justin and Catherine (Lynch) Murray. She grew up in Alma, MI. Maureen received a bachelor's degree from Siena Heights University and her teaching certificate from University of Detroit. Maureen married Robert Roger Ottney on May 28, 1960 and he preceded her in death on October 24, 2002. Maureen was the Outreach Director for St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church for many years and remained an active volunteer and parishioner after retirement.  Surviving are: children, John (Tanya) Ottney of Fenton, Mary (Randy) Day of Henderson, NV, Karen (David) Ohara of Williamsburg, MI; grandchildren, Joshua (Megan), Jacob, Kendra, Alex, Trevor, Tiffany, Austin, and Jackson; three great-grandchildren.
