CONVIS, Mattie Mae - age 88, went to be with her Lord, beloved husband, Bob, and grandson, Eric, September 15, 2009 at Swank Assisted Living in Swartz Creek. Mattie, the youngest of seven, was born May 25, 1921 in Mendenhall, Mississippi to John and Louie Rankin. She married Robert David Convis on December 23, 1944. Services will be held 11 AM Friday, September 18, 2009 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd. Swartz Creek with Pastor Aaron Whitman officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Hills Cemetery. Visitation will be held 6-9 PM Wednesday and 12-4 and 6-9 PM Thursday at the funeral home where an O.E.S. memorial service will be held 7 PM Thursday. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, son, Neuman and wife, Janice; daughters, Bobbie and husband, Bard McClanahan, Betsy and husband, Wayne Glasco; 5 grandchildren, Jason and wife, Angela McClanahan, Jill Bruckman, Michael and wife, Falon Convis, Jim and Jeremy Glasco; 6 great-grandchildren, Alisha, Brianna, Tyler, Ethan, Lillian and Emma; one brother, Woodrow and wife, Jeanette of Starkville, Mississippi; Brothers-in-law, Don (Roberta) Convis, Dan Tarkington, Jack (Elaine) Convis, Carl (Linda) Convis, Jerry (Rozella) Convis; sisters-in-law, Faye Wezell, Evelyn Harris, Caroline (B.J.) Kirby, Marie (Walter) Shultz; many nieces and nephews; special friends, Verda Joyner and Stephanie Creger.
