Marylene Force

Marylene T. Force, age 84, of Flint, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on Thursday, November 10, 2022. The Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, November 17, 2022, at 11AM at St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church, 4413 Morris Road in Swartz Creek. A visitation will be held the night before on Wednesday, November 16, 2022, starting at 5PM until the Vigil Service at 7PM at Sharp Funeral Home, 8138 Miller Road in Swartz Creek. Visitation will continue at 9AM at church on Thursday. Marylene will be laid to rest next to her husband, Donald, at Crestwood Cemetery. Online condolences can be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
She was born on March 11, 1938, in Carney, Michigan to the late Marcell (Mary) Charlier. Marylene graduated from Stevenson High School in 1956. She married the love of her life Donald on August 29, 1959, in Nadeau, Michigan and together they were blessed with six children. Marylene was an active member of St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Swartz Creek; she volunteered for St. Raphael Guild, Catechism Education Courses and decorated the church for Christmas. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, sewing, embroidery and gardening. She will be forever remembered as the matriarch of the family and will be dearly missed by her family and all those whom she mothered.
Marylene is survived by her six children, Ronald Force, Judith Cooper, Ken Force, Linda Messinger, Susan Force and Daniel Force; three grandchildren, Laura Force, Ryan Messinger and Kayli Force; two siblings, Angeline (Lawrence) Lundquist and Elizabeth Tankersley. She is further survived by many other family members and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Donald on May 17, 2003; eight siblings, Anne, Orville, Roland, Geraldine, Lawrence, Reuben, Audrey and Douglas.
