Mary "Annette" Shinedling

SHINEDLING, Mary “Annette” - Age 84, of Flushing, Michigan passed away on April 26, 2022. A Memorial Service will be held 11AM Monday, May 2, 2022 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel,  8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Her son, Michael Shinedling officiating. Visitation is 10AM until the time of service at 11AM.  Annette was born September 8, 1937 in Salt Lake City, Utah, the daughter of Harvey and Mary (Abbott) Self. She attended Brigham Young University. She was employed at Pacific Bell, where she saved someone’s life as a telephone operator. She later worked at Rockwell International, and then Dean Witter. Annette was a member of The Michigan Mormon Concert Choir, and loved to sing. She was an amazing prayer warrior. Annette taught her family how to pray, and witnessed the power of prayer many times throughout her life. She was an avid reader, loved movies and spending time with her family.
Annette is survived by her four children - Michelle (Kurt) Zimmerman, Michael (Michele) Shinedling, Dorothy Good and Brian (Mary) Shinedling; eighteen grandchildren - Ryan, Tyler, Matthew, Ashley, Joshua, Michael, Ben, Luke, Jimmy, Jenny, Andre, Julie, Jeremy, Jennifer, Kimberly, Kelly, Katy, and Casey; siblings - Harvey (Marilyn) Self, Stephen Self, Jon (Shari) Self, Paul (Nobuko) Self, Perry (Diane) Self, sixteen great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Annette was preceded in death by her parents.
Annette was one of the kindest souls that ever walked the earth. She was incredibly generous and took great joy in spending time with those she loved. She was an exceptional mother and the definition of a caring grandmother.  Annette’s passing has left an unfillable void in the lives of all who loved her. Her quiet demeanor and soft touch will be greatly missed, until we see her again. Her entire family is grateful for the years they were able to share with this remarkable woman of faith.
