CHMIELEWSKI, Maryanne Rose - Age 95, of Fenton, formerly of St. Clair Shores passed away Sunday, January 26, 2025. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated 11:00 AM Thursday, February 6, 2025, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church 600 N. Adelaide St, Fenton. Fr. David Harvey celebrant. Visitation 10:00 AM -11:00 AM Thursday at church. A rosary will be prayed at 10:30 AM Thursday at church. Committal Service 2:30 PM Thursday at Great Lakes National Cemetery 4200 Belford Rd., Holly. Memorial contributions would be appreciated to the wishes of the family c/o Joann Franklin to assist with the care of Maryanne's daughter, Kathleen Blackwell.
Maryanne was born August 7, 1929 in Detroit, the daughter of John and Rose (Marchewitz) Kopydlowski. She was married to Chester Chmielewski on July 11, 1953 in Detroit; they shared 67 years of marriage together until his passing on July 14, 2020. Maryanne was employed as an Accounting Assistant with Holly Carburetor Company for many years. She was a devoted member of St. Thomas and St. Louis the King Catholic Churches in Detroit, Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church in St. Clair Shores, and later St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Fenton. Maryanne was very devoted to and recited the rosary several times a day. She enjoyed sewing and cooking.
Maryanne is survived by her daughters, Kathleen Blackwell of Fenton, Joann (Lonnie) Franklin of Hartland; grandchildren, Kimberly (Bill), Robert (Nicole), Sara (Jacob), Mellissa (Jamel), Kyle (Elizabeth); great grandchildren, Benjamin, MaKayla, Dylan, Zoey; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Maryanne was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Chester; her son, Robert Chmielewski; 10 siblings; and her son-in-law, Billy Blackwell. Online tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
