Mary Wyant

WYANT, Mary Jane - Age 82, of Grand Ledge, MI, formerly of Fenton, passed away Wednesday, December 5, 2018. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at Sharp Funeral Homes, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton from 10 AM until the service which begins at 12 PM. Mary was born October 1, 1936 in Flint, the daughter of Clyde and Florence (Porter) Severn. She attended Flint Central High School. She was licensed in Cosmetology and Real Estate. Mary and her husband, Donald were business owners and she was instrumental in assisting her husband with business operations. They owned and operated Shorthorn (Flint) for 17 years and started other restaurants such as Diablos, Super Chicken, The Texan, and Floogles. Mary enjoyed several sales positions pertaining to health and nutrition. She is survived by her children, Sherry (Dave) Pickering of Grand Ledge, MI, Shelly (Don) Helms of Naperville, IL, Julia (Steven) Shaw of Williamston, MI, James (Marie) Wyant of Ellsworth, MI, and Donald Wyant, Jr. of New Lothrup, MI; 13 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; four sisters, Annette (George) Kovacs of Mesick, MI, Esther (Tom) Voelker of Davison, MI, Gloria Taylor of Grand Blanc, MI, and Lois (Dave) DeMott of Otisville, MI; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald Lorne Wyant on March 16, 2016; daughter, Debra Lanning; and two sisters, JoAnn Severn and Claudia Severn.
