Mary Walters

WALTERS, Mary Alice- Age 108, of Byron formerly of White Cloud, died Wednesday March 4, 2020. Funeral services will be held 11AM Tuesday, March 10, at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Chaplain Hank Messing officiating. Burial will follow in Flint Memorial Park, Mt. Morris. Visitation will be held 4PM-8PM Monday and 10AM until time of service on Tuesday.  Mary was born September 27, 1911 in  Essex Missouri,  the  daughter of Claude and Ella (Aldridge) Skaggs. She married James Henry Walters on April 4, 1939 in Paragould Arkansas and he preceded her in death on November 9, 1991. Mary enjoyed deer hunting and fishing. She retired from General Motors Fisher I in 1971 with 27 years of service. Mary resided in Byron and lived in White Cloud, MI for many years.  Surviving are: 11 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; special grandson, Dennis (Charlene) Comstock; special grand daughter Rita Miller; great grandchildren, Cindy Smith, Cathy Brown, Brian Johnston and Becky Mulligan. Mary is also survived by her many great great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, children, Ella Mae Tyler, James Gary Walters and Hafford Kelly Walters; great granddaughter, Jennifer Comstock; two brothers and four sisters.
