Mary Eva Sommers

SOMMERS, Mary Eva- Age 90, of Flint, died Monday, May 28, 2007, at Melody Gardens Care Home, after a long illness.  Funeral services will be held 7:00 PM Thursday, May 31, 2007 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek.  Burial in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, Swartz Creek.  Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 6-8 PM Thursday.  Those desiring may make contributions to the Genesee County Humane Society.  Mary was born January 22, 1917 in Durand.  She married John Gasper Sommers September 2, 1940 in Swartz Creek and he preceded her in death August 14, 1996.  Surviving are: daughter, Sharon Anne Schaffer of Flint; son, Richard John Sommers of Rochester; grandson, Steffan John Schaffer and Anna of Flint; great grandchildren, Paige and Cameron Schaffer of Flint; many nieces and nephews.  She was also preceded in death by her parents; son-in-law, William J.
