SCHEITLER, Mary Francis (Ocenasek) -- Age 89, of Swartz Creek, died September 10, 2015. Funeral mass will be celebrated 11 AM Tuesday, September 15 at St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church, 4413 Morrish Road, Swartz Creek, Fr. Louis Ekka celebrant. Interment at St. Mary Cemetery, Swartz Creek. Visitation will be held 2-5 and 6-9 PM Monday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek, where a rosary will be prayed at 7 PM Monday. Visitation will also be held 10 AM until time of service at the church on Tuesday. Those desiring may make contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Mary was born June 9, 1926 in Clayton Township the daughter of John and Mary (Novak) Ocenasek. She married Kenneth Scheitler on October 15, 1949; he preceded her in death on March 13, 1983. She was a lifetime member of St Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church, and the Alter Society. She was the oldest participating original member of the church. She was a volunteer for the North End Soup Kitchen. She was active in Swartz Creek Senior Center. Mary was a devout mother and a devout catholic. She is survived by 9 children, Kenneth (Sherry) Scheitler of Florida, Karen (Rodney) Thomas of Durand, Kathleen Scheitler of Flint, Kay (Dan) Monroe of Swartz Creek, Kelly Scheitler of Owosso, Karol Scheitler of Lennon, Kris Scheitler of Fenton, Kevin Scheitler of Indiana, Kurt Scheitler of Swartz Creek; many grandchildren; great grandchildren; 3 sisters-in-law, Bev Franks, Rena Ocenasek, and Bev Scheitler; brother-in-law, Robert Scheitler; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; 4 sons, Konrad, Joseph, Kirk, and infant Scheitler; 6 brothers, Joseph, Thomas, Frank, Charlie, Nicholas and Stanley.
