Mary Porter (Nagy), 86, Royal Oak, MI. Mary was born in 1937, daughter of the late George Nagy and Pearl Dusincky of Flint, MI. She grew up in Flint and later moved to the Detroit area where she raised her family of three children. Eventually, she settled in Royal Oak, MI where she lived for 30 years before moving this past year to Fenton, MI to be closer to family. She worked as an executive secretary/office manager for an automotive supplier before retiring. Mary loved gardening, most of all, her roses. She enjoyed Tai Chi and the sacred gong performances at Starr Jaycee Park. She loved to travel when she was younger, and had the opportunity to visit a number of countries in Europe during her life. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and family meant everything to her.
She is survived by her children Cheryl Adams, Tim Porter (Cynthia), and Cindy Porter; five grandchildren, Michael, Kelsey, Matthew, Riley, and Noah; three great-grandchildren who were the light of her life in her later years, Carter, Paislee, and Colton; sisters Betty and Julie, and brother George.
Mary passed peacefully in her sleep early Tuesday morning at Hurley Hospital in Flint, surrounded by family and friends who made sure she knew she was loved very much by all. Per her wishes, there will be no service or memorial. A private family memorial will be held at a later date in Big Sur California, a place she loved for its beauty and tranquility, and wanted the family to gather to remember her.
