Mary I. Niles

NILES, Mary I. - Age 68, of Swartz Creek, went to be with the Lord Sunday, January 13, 2008. Services will be held 1 PM Friday, January 18, 2008 at Swartz Creek United Methodist Church, 7400 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek with Rev. Dr. J.D. Landis officiating. Visitation will be held 2-5 and 7-9 PM Wednesday and Thursday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Whaley Historical House, 624. E. Kearsley St., Flint. Mrs. Niles was born February 11, 1939 in Flint the daughter of Herbert and Beatrice (Fotenakes) Comer. She  graduated from Flint Central High School and was a resident of Flint/Swartz Creek her entire life. She married Don Niles on May 8, 1961 in Flint. Mrs. Niles was a member of Swartz Creek United Methodist Church and Swartz Creek Home Owners Association. She was also a member of Swartz Creek City Council for 12 years and Mayor pro tem for 2 years. Mrs. Niles was a committee member for Swartz Creek Home Town Days, worked with Child Find and was an Eye Donor. Surviving are her husband, Don Niles of Swartz Creek; 4 children, Christopher and wife Suzanne Niles of Tracy, CA, Toni Godley of Flint, Donald and wife Sandy Niles of Durand, Michael and wife Shelly Niles of Swartz Creek; 6 grandchildren, Nikki and husband Shawn Klanseck, Tom Somers, Alexandria and Victoria Niles, Christina and Jillian Niles; 1 great-grandchild, Spencer; sister, Terry Laflame and husband Ray Ridolfi of Huntington Woods; brother, Gary Laflame of Flint.
