Mary Mcenrue

McENRUE, Mary Elizabeth age 87, of Dublin, GA, passed away Sunday, January 1, 2023.  A Memorial Mass will be held 11 AM Thursday, January 19, 2023 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 600 N. Adelaide St., Fenton.  Inurnment will follow in St. John Cemetery.  A gathering of family and friends will be held 2-6 PM Wednesday, January 18, 2023 followed by a 6 PM Rosary Service, at Sharp Funeral Home, Fenton Chapel, 1000 W. Silver Lake Rd., Fenton, MI 48430.  A Memorial Mass was held at 12:10 P.M. Friday, January 6, 2023, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 1135 2nd St SE, Moultrie, GA 31768. A reception will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2023, from 12:00 noon until 2:00 P.M. at the residence in GA. In lieu of flowers, please make your donations to your favorite charity.

Ms. McEnrue was born on March 19, 1935, in Flint MI to her parents, James Michael and Mary L. Gannon McEnrue. She moved to Laurens County, GA 40 years ago. Mary worked at AC Delco, then went on into nursing.  She served in Haiti as a missionary and loved children.  Mary worked and retired as a nurse at the Carl Vinson VA Medical Center in Dublin, GA.  After her retirement, she was a nurse in a Prison. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Her nick name was “Mother Goose” to her family. She enjoyed gardening and her prize roses were Mr. Lincoln with a sweet fragrance; snap dragons were another favorite and she would show how they open their little mouths. She loved babies, her dogs, and cats.

Mary is survived by her niece and caregiver, Coleen Hughes; and many other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her siblings, “Jack” John Frances McEnrue; James Edward McEnrue; Margaret Agnes Crepeau; “Doll” Catherine Ann Murray; and Patrick Michael McEnrue.
