Mary A. Matsco

MATSCO, Mary A. - Age 96, of Grand Blanc, died Tuesday, February 8, 2005 at her residence. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 AM Friday, February 11, 2005 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 11824 S. Saginaw, Grand Blanc. Fr. James Swiat celebrant. Burial will be in New Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held 3-5 and 6-8 PM Thursday at Sharp Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd., Flint. A rosary will be recited at 7 PM Thursday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make contributions to Grand Blanc Township Police Officers Association. Mary was born October 7, 1908 in Bratislavia, Slovakia, the daughter of Frank and Josephine Yurkovich. She was married to John A. Matsco, who preceded her in death in October 1981. Mrs. Matsco was an active volunteer for many years with the GCCAA Senior Food Program at St. Paul Episcopal Church and in 1998, received the Senior of the Year Award. She was also a member of the Daughters of Isabella and the National Slovak Catholic Sokol. Surviving are: son, Robert Matsco and wife Sandra; grandsons, Robert Dillon, Matthew Dillon and wife Patsy; great grandsons, Theo Dillon and Chad Dillon; son-in-law, Donald Dillon and wife Beverly. Mrs. Matsco was also preceded in death by her daughter, Patricia Ann Dillon; sisters, Anna Bisaha and Stella Sczypanski
