Mary MADRAS

MADRAS, Mary, age 87, of Swartz Creek passed away Wednesday, April 21, 2010 at Genesys Health Park. Mass will be held 11:00am Saturday, April 24, 2010 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 11824 S. Saginaw, Grand Blanc, Fr. Kusi Cobona will Officiate. The family will receive family and friends from 10:00am until time of mass. Arrangements provided by Sharp Funeral Home And Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Road, Flint. Those desiring may send flowers or make contributions to the North End Soup Kitchen. Mary was born October 20, 1922 in Detroit, the Daughter of the late Peter and Grozda Christich. She married Joseph Madras August 17, 1947 in Flint. Mary was an avid reader, loved her dogs and gardening, especially all her beautiful flowers. She also enjoyed watching Detroit Tigers games. She worked for Buick AC Sparkplug with 10 years of service. Mary never met a stranger, making friends to all she met and loved being a Mom and Nana first and foremost. Surviving are: husband of 62 years Joseph Madras of Flint; Daughters, Joanne (Tom) Ackerman of Fenton, Jacqueline (John) Gnirs of Flint Twp., Judith (Bill) Magers of Grand Blanc; Grandson, Stephen Magers of Grand Blanc. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers Walt and Gus Christich. Special thanks to Jackie, Ilene, Deb, Nancy, Misty and Sheila at Genesys Hospital for your care and compassion. I'll fight lifes final war with pain and then as death gives way to victory, I'll see the light of glory and I know he lives, all fear is gone, I"m going home-Alleluia!!
