MILLER, Mary Louise-- born June 8, 1920 peacefully joined her Lord on September 10, 2016. She joins her parents Emma Metzger Miller and Orrell E. Miller; brother, Robert O. Miller and his wife, Eleanor. She was born and raised in Flint Michigan and a life-long member of St.Michael's Catholic Church. She is survived by her nieces and nephews Robert G. Miller, Kevin Miller, Deborah Haliczer, Colleen Miller Ayers and Mary Beth Ruffing, as well as their spouses, children, and extended families. She will be missed by her dear long-term friend and caregiver Rose Shelley, who Mary Louise loved as a daughter and to whom her surviving family is deeply grateful. Mary Louise was a long-time resident of Lockwood of Burton. As a strong, independent professional she graduated from Michigan State University, taught school and then served her country as a cryptanalyst in World War II. She retired from Consumers Power Co. following a long and successful career. She was a gourmet cook and left a treasure trove of recipes. Her artistic ability was expressed in detailed needlework and her classic style. A small memorial service for friends and caregivers will be held at Lockwood, as well as at St. Mike's at a later date.
