Mary Ann LAJZA

LAJZA, Mary Ann Johns - Age 83, of Highland formerly of Swartz Creek, died Wednesday, April 22, 2009 at Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 AM Saturday, April 25, 2009 at St. Mary Queen of Angel Catholic Church, Swartz Creek. Fr. Steven Mattson celebrant. Burial immediately following at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, Swartz Creek. Visitation will be held Friday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek from 1-4 and 6-9 PM and at church Saturday from 10:00 AM until time of Mass. Those desiring may make contributions to St. Jude Childrens Hospital. Mrs. Lajza was born January 28, 1926 in Czechoslovakia, the daughter of Paul and Marie (Kubic) Jagos. She married William A. Johns and he preceded her in death June 15, 1977, she then married Walter Lajza and he preceded her in death February 24, 1983. She retired from Hurley Medical Center as a Registered Nurse. She was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Highland and a former member of St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Swartz Creek. Surviving are: 2 children, Barbarose Pulford of Highland and Paul and wife Sherry Johns of White Lake; 5 grandchildren, Nicole and husband Glen Taylor of Novi, Stephanie Johns of White Lake, Joseph Pulford of Highland, Mary Beth Pulford of Highland and Paul Johns II of White Lake; 3 great grandchildren, Katherine, Lilith and Raven; sister, Ann VanAtter of Swartz Creek; brother, Anthony and wife Mildred Jagos of Burton; several nieces and nephews.
