Mary "Joann" Kunkle

KUNKLE, Mary "Joann" - Age 72, of Swartz Creek, died Tuesday, May 1, 2007 at Brian's House Hospice in Davison. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 AM Friday, May 4, 2007 at St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church, Swartz Creek. Fr. Amos Wischmeyer celebrant. Interment will follow in Bendle Cemetery. Visitation will be held 2-4 & 6-8 PM Thursday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. A Rosary will be prayed 7 PM Thursday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make contributions to the American Diabetes Association or St. Jude Children's Hospital. Joann was born June 17, 1934 in Flint, the daughter of Michael "Joe" and Minnie (Wolpert) Bancroft and was a 1952 graduate of St. Michael High School in Flint. She was married to Erich Kunkle in 1955; he preceded her in death on February 9, 1995. Mrs. Kunkle was employed by Buick in the early 50's and more recently at H&R Block. She was a member of St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church. Surviving are: five children, Steve and wife Donna of Flint, Mike of Flint, Laure of Canton, Tom and wife Kathy of Brighton, Matt and wife Brenda of Flint; brother, Peter Royalty of Pennsylvania; six grandchildren, Lauren, Kristen, Zackery, Maxwell, Taylor and William. She was also preceded in death by her parents; sister, Catherine Earhart in 2003; brother, Leonard Bancroft in 2000. On-line condolences may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
