Mary J. Jones

Jones, Mary "Jean" - Age 84 of Swartz Creek, died Monday, July 9, 2007 at Avalon Hospice Care Center. Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Thursday, July 12 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Interment following at Sunset Hills Cemetery, Flint. Visitation will be 6-8 PM Tuesday and 12-4 and 6-8 Wednesday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to American Cancer Society or American Heart Association. Jean was born March 31, 1923 in Flint, the daughter of Vern and Kathryn (DeLong) Barnaby. She married Darcy E. Jones on January 13, 1945 in Flint, and he preceded her in death. She was employed by Dr. Campbell Cutler as an LPN for over 20 years. Jean was a member of Hope Methodist Church. She enjoyed bowling, loved traveling and going to casinos. She is survived by her two daughters, Kathryn Curtis of Flint, Sandra and husband Robert Grey of Bancroft; sister, Lynn Nold of Colorado; brother, Vern and wife Sandy Barnaby of Goodrich; grandchildren, Mary Kathryn and husband Chuck Cole, Patrick and wife Kim Curtis, Heather Curtis, Aaron and wife Kelly Grey, Melissa Grey; great-grandchildren, Collin, Justin, Kayton, Jessica, Natalie. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Darcy; sister, Margaret Cook. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to the staff of Avalon Hospice.
