Mary Jessop

Jessop, Mary Alice- Age 85, of Howell, formerly of Palmetto, Florida, passed Sunday, February 25, 2018 at the Willows of Howell. A funeral mass will be celebrated 11 AM Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at St. Augustine Catholic Church, 6481 Faussett Road, Howell.. Fr. Gregg A. Pleiness celebrant. Mary will be laid to rest with her husband, parents, grandparents, and great great grandparents in St. Augustine Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will take place 4-9 PM Monday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Linden Chapel, 209 East Broad Street, Linden where a rosary will be prayed at 7 PM. Mary was born March 20, 1932 in Lansing, the daughter of Emmett and Florence Marion (Purcell) Conklin. She grew up in Milford, Michigan. Mary was a secretary for General Motors until she started a family. She married Donald Earl Jessop in Milford on October 15, 1955 and he preceded her in death on September 23, 2006. During their marriage of over 50 years they traveled extensively, visiting 49 states. Mary was very proud of her Catholic faith and Irish ancestry. She is survived by her daughter, Terese Gainer of Howell; son, John (Sandra) Jessop of Hamtramck; five grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two step grandchildren; three step great grandchildren; siblings, Patrick (Dolores) Conklin, Robert (Beatrice) Conklin, Dawn Alfes (Tom), Nancy Cason (James), Peggy Prawdzik (Bob); sister in law, Carole Conklin; numerous nieces and nephews.
