Mary Etta Ikerd

IKERD, Mary Etta - Age 89, of Swartz Creek, passed away May 10, 2024. Funeral services will be held 12PM Thursday, May 16, 2024 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Burial in Great Lakes National Cemetery. Visitation will be held 5-9 PM Wednesday and 10AM until the time of service Thursday. Those desiring may make contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Shriner's Hospitals for Children. Mary was born November 28, 1934 in Daviston, AL, the daughter of James and Avis (Oliver) Lock. She married Allen Richard Ikerd on January 15, 1972 in Flint. Mrs. Ikerd worked at Hurley Hospital for 35 years, retiring in 1980.Mary loved gardening, decorating her home and shopping. Her family was everything to her. She is survived by her husband, Allen; daughters, Denise (Joseph) Graves and Deborah (Michael) Rosipko; grandchildren, David Ralph, Lisa (Jim) Carney, Brecken (Jeff) LaDuke; great-grandchildren, Nicholas (Molly) Ralph, Angela (Alex) Thompson, Cameron Ralph, Savannah Carney, Skyler Ralph, Caleb LaDuke, Joshua LaDuke and Jacob Carney; great great-grandchildren, Adalyn, Alayna Jo, Maggie and Joseph; sister, Mavis Johnson; many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; great-grandson, Troy Aldrich; brothers, John and William Virgil Lock; sister, Catherine Lock; her aunt and uncle who raised her, Esther and Isaiah Patterson Bence.
