Mary Hetzel

HETZEL, Mary Margaret - age 73, of Grand Blanc, passed away November 11, 2022. Graveside services will be held on December 3rd at 11AM at St. Mary Cemetery in Swartz Creek. Mary was born June 7, 1949 in Flint, the daughter of Fredrick and Joan (Smith) Hetzel. She retired from General Motors after 30 years of dedicated service with the majority of her career spent at Buick City as a proud member of UAW Local #599. Mary loved animals, especially her Labrador Retrievers and rescue cats. She enjoyed feeding the birds on her deck and tending to her many backyard flower gardens. Mary had a profound impact on the lives of so many.  Throughout her life she was always willing to support a friend or family member.  Many thanks go out to the circle of close friends and family members who helped Mary in her recent time of need.

She is survived by her siblings, Fredrick "Fritz" (Mary) Hetzel, Elizabeth "Betty" (Bruce) Smith and John Hetzel; brother-in-law, Byron Joys; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Carolyn Parsell and Lucille Joys; brothers, Robert Hetzel and William Hetzel.
