DOBRIN, Mary - Age 93, died Friday, July 31, 2009 at her home in Abbey Park, Grand Blanc. Mrs. Dobrin was born on January 14, 1916 in Verona, PA. She was married to Daniel Dobrin and he preceded her in death in 1967. Mrs. Dobrin spent a number of years in the Detroit area where she worked for the Detroit Public Library. She thoroughly enjoyed working at the library and made many friends while employed there. After retiring from the library, Mary and her longtime companion of 38 years, Bert Greher resided part time in Fenton and Cape Coral, Florida. They enjoyed traveling to many foreign lands together. Later she moved to the Grand Blanc area where she had lived for the last several years. Surviving are her daughter, Nancy Smith of Florida; her son, David Dobrin (Janet) of Michigan; and daughter, Stephanie Dobrin of California. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Daniel Smith (Lisa) of Arizona, Andrew Smith of Michigan, David Dobrin (Jennifer) of Michigan and Devon Dobrin of Michigan. There are two great-grandchildren, Nicholas Smith and Zachary Dobrin; a sister, Sylvia Williams of Florida; and her longtime companion, Bert Greher. Mrs. Dobrin was preceded in death by her parents, Spiridion and Stefania Codrea; her twin brother, John Codrea in 2006 and a brother, George Codrea. A memorial service will be 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, August 4, 2009 at Abbey Park, 3221 E. Baldwin Rd., Grand Blanc. Dr. Garry Yeager will officiate. Interment of cremated remains will take place later at Woodlawn Cemetery in Detroit.
