Mary Cunningham

Cunningham , Mary Elizabeth - Age 84, of Fenton, died July 29, 2022. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 AM Wednesday August 3, 2022 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 600 N. Adelaide St., Fenton. Interment in St. John Cemetery.  Visitation will be held 2-8 PM Tuesday with a Rosary at 7 PM at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton; and 10 AM until the time of the Mass Wednesday at the church. Mary was born August 6, 1937 in Detroit , Michigan, the daughter of Stephen and Catherine (Popplewell) Stiling. She married William J. Cunningham on August 3, 1957 at St. Patrick's Church in White Lake Township. In her earlier years Mary had worked at Witt's Drive Inn in White Lake, and for Western Electric. She had worked as a Hairdresser . She helped her husband Bill with their Free Press route, rental business, and she was actively involved with the family farm. She was a homemaker, as a wife and mother of 6 children. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. She taught CCD, was active in the Intercessory Prayer Group, and volunteered her time for funeral luncheons and St. John Applefest.  She enjoyed gardening and canning. Surviving are: husband of 65 years, Bill; children, Pamela (Kent) Blaine of Swartz Creek, John (Dina) Cunningham of Goodrich, Shawn (Stefanie) Cunningham of Grand Blanc, Maria (Paul) Quinn of Paradise, MI,  George Cunningham of Jackson, Jerry (Rebecca) Cunningham of Canton; daughter-in-law, Chi Ling; grandchildren, Scott (Harriette), Anthony (Jessy), Adam (Ashley), Christopher (Christina), Tracy (Derek), Mark (Alyssa),  LeAnn (Justin), Nick (Marianna), Justin, Sam, Gabe, Marianne, Luke, Matthias, Zephanyah, Angela (Eric), Jason (Melissa), Hannah (Wes), Zecheryah, Kirstin, Josiah, and Colin; sixteen great-grandchildren; sister Sally Dick, Silvia Funni;  brother George Cholo; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Catherine and George Cholo, Steve Stiling; sister, Susan Stiling, Patricia Lantier, and Eileen Clouse. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
