Mary Carolyn Cromwell-Cook (Davis), age 97, of Burton, passed away on Monday, December 30, 2024 in Lapeer. Private arrangements were entrusted to Sharp Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Road, Grand Blanc.

Mary was born on February 9, 1927, in Bay, Arkansas to the late William and Lola (Cherry) Watson. She attended high school in Bay, Arkansas, and was known for her strong work ethic and determination. Throughout her life, she embodied the spirit of perseverance. Taking her first steps into marriage, she wed Donald Cromwell on December 12, 1945, in Truman, Arkansas. Together, they nurtured a family that included nine sons, a testament to her strength and commitment as a mother. Following Donald's passing in 2003, she found love a second time with Jack Cook, marrying him on November 6, 2004. However, Jack too left this world in 2014. Mary's life journey took her from her roots in Arkansas to Texas for a brief four-year period before settling in Burton, Michigan, where she would spend the remainder of her life. An active member of her community, she attended the United Methodist Church in Burton and was also a former member of the Moose Lodge in the area. A dedicated individual, Mary spent a significant portion of her career at GM Fisher Body, where she worked diligently on the Assembly line until her retirement in 1973.

She is survived by her sons, William Davis, Larry (Eleanor) Cromwell, Don (Karen) Cromwell, Roger (Beverly) Cromwell, Wendell Cromwell, Raymond Cromwell, Clifford (Sylvia) Cromwell, William Davis; stepson, Allen Cromwell; 27 grandchildren; and many many great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; sister, Lola; sister-in-law, Linda Cromwell-Kellengan; and many nieces and nephews. 

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; first husband of 58 years, Donald Cromwell; second husband of 10 years, Jack Cook; son, Stephen Cromwell; and 5 brother and 5 sisters. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com
