Mary was born on January 28, 1955, in Altoona, Pennsylvania to the late George and Dorothy Jorkasky. During her childhood, her family made the move to Flint, MI. Mary was a graduate from Beecher High School in 1972. Go Bucs! She married the love of her life, Robert Carroll, on June 23, 1973, in Flint, MI. This past June they celebrated 50 years of marriage with a large celebration full of friends and family. Mary stayed busy raising 8 children and keeping up with 18 grandchildren. She ran her household seamlessly with great pride. She was an amazing cook who prepared countless meals for her family and continued to do so on Holidays and special occasions. Mary was fully emerged as a wife, mother and grandmother, diving headfirst into whatever interests her family explored. You could always count on her attending and providing positive support. Mary and Robert enjoyed many road trips and small getaways to nearby casinos. Some of her fondest memories were those spent at their home in St. Ignace, where many friends and family would stop by for a visit. She truly loved the scenic views northern Michigan has to offer, especially sunrise over the city of St. Ignace from her front window. Mary and Robert made every effort to keep up with their grandchildren's school events by attending as many as possible.
She is survived by her loving husband, Robert Carroll; her four children, Derek (Monica) Carroll and their children, Riley, Jacoby, Tristan, and Ashton; Amanda (Patrick) McLean and their children, Avery, Mariah, and Kade; Kurt (Connie) Carroll and their son, Evan, and Sara (Aaron) Kaufer and their children, Eva, and Levi. Mary is further survived by four nephews she raised as her own sons, Jason (Tami) Jorkasky and their children, Madison and Natasha; Justin (Sarah) Jorkasky and their children, Taylin and Kendall; Josh (Sarah) Jorkasky and their children, Bryson and Cam; and Jared (Shannon) Jorkasky and their children, Jayden and Jaxson. She is also survived by many other dear family members and friends too numerous to list but never forgotten.
