On Monday, July 12, a Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 am officiated by Mark Middleton at Sharp Funeral Home, followed by burial at Flint Memorial Park. She was born in Flint, MI on November 6, 1926, moving to St Petersburg, FL in 1967 and to Bradenton, FL in 1999. A graduate of Flint Northern High School, she married her childhood sweetheart, Bill Miller, on February 25, 1945, upon his first furlough from service in the US Army during WWII. She then followed him to New York City, where she worked as an office secretary for the war effort. In addition to raising her four children, she worked as secretary to the plant manager of the Buick engine factory in Flint, until moving to Florida, where she served as secretary to several bank managers. She enjoyed many years hosting friends and family, boating with her husband…cruising along Tampa Bay, the Intercoastal Waterway, Shell Island, Egmont Key and the Gulf of Mexico, following the call "Adventure, Mary, Adventure!"
She is survived by her children: William F. Miller (Joan) of Grand Blanc, MI; Thomas C. Miller (Linda) of Portland, OR; Sandra L. Anderson (J. Michael) of Mexico Beach, FL; and Candace M. Middleton (Mark) of Toronto, ON; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom she held dear. She was preceded in death by her husband, William K. Miller; granddaughter, Amy Renee Miller; parents, Fred and Eva Busch; sister, Lydia Busch Jurk; and brother, Fred Busch.
"But we want you to know about Christians who pass away, so that you don't grieve as those who have no hope. For, if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who have fallen asleep in Jesus."
